Why is my generation waiting, and can I cancel it?
Every generation goes into one shared line before a model starts on it. When the line is short it starts at once. When many people generate at the same time, the order matters, and that is what this page explains.
How does the queue work?
Generations from all models wait in one line. A model starts your job as soon as it is your turn and your plan has a free slot.
When the line is busy, paid plans start first and higher plans start before lower ones. Free generations start after them, so they can take longer. When the line is empty, nobody waits.
A job that was already running when something interrupted it is picked up again before everyone else, so it does not lose its place.
How many can run at once?
Your plan sets how many generations of yours can run at the same time. Anything beyond that waits in line and starts when one of your running jobs finishes.
What do the states on the card mean?
Queued: waiting for its turn. Nothing has been sent to the model yet.
Melting: the model is working on it. Videos usually take a minute or two, longer on slow models.
Ready: the result is finished and in your history.
Can I cancel a generation?
Yes, while it is still in line. Press Cancel on the card and confirm. Your credits, or your free attempt, are returned immediately and the card shows that it was canceled.
Once a model has started, the generation cannot be stopped and cannot be canceled. The model is already running, so its cost is already committed. If it then fails, your credits come back as for any failed generation.
How do I get my generations to start sooner?
A paid plan puts your generations ahead of free ones when the line is busy, and higher plans go ahead of lower ones. You can compare plans on the pricing page.
